Personal Profile

My work uses text as the basis for abstraction. In the case of the first images, I use a word and make it into a kind of shape as I adjust it, in some ways you are left with a graffiti like abstraction. I love abstract painting, but the only way I can begin to approach and converse with it, is to begin through words. The word still exists but remains personal through its distortion. In this series, extraordinary lost individuals from my life are remembered.
