The world of “The Mask” is the culmination of Stephen Jon’s experience of  visual and physical theatre, allied  with a life long exploration of personal and cultural  mythologies.  His work investigates the interface between art and craft,  between art and therapy  and  between the collaborative and individual processes of creativity. He draws on a wide range of skills including clay sculpture, painting and drawing as well as vocal and movement techniques.




Recent Experiences

As a Teacher: including Nottingham Trent University, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Nottingham University, Bristol University. Many schools  (Mainly Primary and Special) and F.E. Colleges. Creative Partnerships Programme as a Creative Agent and as a Practitioner.

As a Maker: Mask Commissions for  Peta Lily, Molly Guilfoyle, John Wright, City Arts Nottingham, Lost Boys Derby, Paa Jo and the Lion, Clumber Park.
