Gabriel Tejada works mainly with painting and drawing media. His works represent a fictional post-apocalyptic world, where imaginary objects and beings inhabit familiar or unidentifiable environments. The work points to processes of making and how the outcomes of these activities can portray its makers. As in archaeology, viewers access this culture through the study of physical remains. Gabriel was born in Lima, Peru 1974 and has lived and worked in the UK since 2001. He studied a BA (Hons)in Painting at Universidad Catolica del Peru (1992-1997), a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine Art at Byam Shaw School of Art (2001-2002) and an MA in Painting at The Royal College of Art (2004- 2006). His work has been exhibited widely within the UK and Peru. He currently lives and works in Nottingham, UK.
